Colby Lewis Looking To Bounce Back Against O's

Lewis was tagged for his first loss of 2012 in his last start

You wouldn’t know it to look at his season stats, but Colby Lewis, who will get the ball for the Rangers’ in game one of Thursday’s day-night doubleheader with the Orioles, is coming off a relatively ugly start.

In his last turn, against the Indians in Cleveland, Lewis surrendered six runs and a season high ten hits in 6 2/3 innings and took the loss, his first on the year. Alone, it doesn’t sound like all that terrible of a start. But Lewis gave up just seven runs and 30 hits in all of April.

Again, Lewis’s stat line on the year wasn’t exactly fouled up by his outing in Cleveland. Lewis goes into today’s start with a 3-1 record, a 2.97 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP.

In two starts against the Orioles in 2011, Lewis was 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA.
