Jeremy Renner is The King of Heists
Just 3 years ago, Jeremy Renner was one of "those guys," a seemingly talented guy you recognized in various TV shows and films--now he's an A-list who's just added yet another film to his dance card.
Renner will star in "The King of Heists," reported Deadline, based on the J. North Conway novel about a real life robbery that took place more than 100 years ago. Here's the synopsis from Publisher's Weekly:
"(T)he spellbinding account of the greatest bank robbery in American history, which took place on October 27, 1878, when thieves broke into the Manhattan Savings Institution and stole nearly $3 million in cash and securities -- around $50 million in today's terms."
Having already proven him self adept at robbing banks in Ben Affleck's "The Town," for which he earned a Best Supporting Actor nomination, Renner should feel right at home as George Leslie, the seeming gentleman who moved to New York with is eyes on a massive prize.
You can catch Renner Dec. 21 opposite Tom Cruise in "Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol," which will be followed by 2012, aka The Year of Jeremy, during which he'll be seen in "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters," "The Avengers" and "The Bourne Legacy."
