The Dallas Cowboys’ 44-7 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday was easily the team’s widest margin of victory since Jason Garrett took over as head coach. Actually, it was the team’s widest margin of victory since 2000, when Garrett was still an NFL player (with the New York Giants) and Cowboys’ leading rusher DeMarco Murray was 12-years-old.
Afterward, Garrett praised his team’s approach, not just to the game, but to the season.
“Coaches like to think, ‘Hey, I have an exact feel for how we’re going to play today,’” Garrett said, per ESPN Dallas. “I think that’s an inexact science at best. I know I thought we practiced well all week long. I think we took that preparation into the game. I think having some success early on both sides of the ball was positive for our team.
“But I think our demeanor has been good. You play through the adversity. You play through the success. You keep going. You know what the challenge is. It’s a three-hour commitment on Sunday for 60 minutes in all three phases and you want your team to be at their best the whole time regardless of what’s going on, regardless of circumstance.”
