Von Miller to Meet With Cowboys

A couple of weeks ago, former Texas A&M linebacker and Dallas native Von Miller told ESPN Radio that he was upset that he didn’t have the opportunity to interview with the team at the Scouting Combine.

"I was kind of bummed out that I didn't get an interview from the Cowboys," Miller said. "I kind of hovered around their suite, and whenever they got free time in between college guys, guys they were meeting with, I'd kind of go in there and kind of talk to the scouts and try to pull Coach Garrett aside and Coach Ryan and see if I could get a little session with them, a two-minute thing where I could talk to them.”

Miller, who grew up a Cowboys fan, won’t likely slip to the Cowboys’ at the ninth overall pick--he is projected to be a top 5 pick--but he remains hopeful that he’ll at least have a shot to speak to his hometown team. In the same ESPN interview, he said that he may have a shot at doing just that at Dallas Day, a pre-draft visit reserved for local players. As it turns out, he was right.

Miller has reportedly been invited to meet with the team at team headquarters at Valley Ranch during Dallas Day. And though it’s highly doubtful that a helmet adorned with a blue star is in the Aggie’s future, he may score a nice dinner out of the deal; last season, Lufkin native Dez Bryant attended Dallas Day and was treated to dinner at the Gaylord Texan.
