Sporting News Mock: Dallas Takes Alabama S Clinton-Dix

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was named to the All-SEC team in 2013

The Sporting News released its latest mock draft on Wednesday, and it has the Cowboys landing a top-tier safety with an awesome name.

With the 17th pick in the mock, the Dallas Cowboys select Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, safety out of the University of Alabama. A member of the 2013 All-SEC team, Clinton-Dix recorded 50 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defensed through 11 games in his junior season. He was suspended for two games in October for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Here’s what the Sporting News had to say about a potential relationship between Clinton-Dix and the Cowboys:

The Cowboys had the NFL's worst secondary last season thanks to a poorly designed scheme by defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and lackluster talent at safety. It looks like they may keep Monte Kiffin around, so adding more talent to the safety position with the best in the class is a must-do.”
