Spencer Hyperextends His Knee

Anthony Spencer missed Tuesday's mini-camp session with a hyperextended knee

The Dallas Cowboys are already without quarterback Tony Romo (back), guard Mackenzy Bernadeau (shoulder), rookie running back Joseph Randle (thumb), fullback Lawrence Vickers (back) and defensive end DeMarcus Ware in mini-camp. On Tuesday, Ware’s fellow outside linebacker-turned-defensive end Anthony Spencer missed practice after it was learned that he had suffered a hyperextended knee.

The good news: Spencer doesn’t believe the injury is serious and expect to return on Wednesday. Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas notes that Spencer was not walking with a visible limp on Tuesday.

"It could have been a lot worse," Spencer said. "You can't play football without having contact."

Also missing from Tuesday’s session was second-year cornerback Morris Claiborne, who was suffering from a migraine.
