Receivers coach Ray Sherman has worked with some of the greatest wide-outs the game has ever seen from Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens in San Francisco to Cris Carter and Randy Moss in Minnesota. But he said recently that the current receiving corps for Dallas is the most talented he has had.
"I think we've got a little more talent than we had in Minnesota, little more than I had in Green Bay and even in San Francisco," Sherman said, per the Dallas Morning News. "Overall, talent-wise as a group. Now we had some individuals that were very talent but overall talent is probably the best."
All things considered, this is a massive statement. Perhaps some clarification is in order. Sherman won’t say that the group is “the best” he’s ever had, because, well, he hasn’t really seen them in action yet.
But do they have a chance to get there?
"Time will tell," Sherman said. "I can't say that right now. We have to wait and see."
