Murray Capable of 2,000 Yards?

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray believes a 2,000-yard season is possible

Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has been making the rounds at ESPN today, visiting “First Take” and “SportsCenter,” just as his teammate and friend, Dez Bryant, did a few months ago. And like Bryant, Murray seems to believe the sky is the limit for this Cowboys team.

Asked if he thought it possible to put together a 2,000-yard season, the oft-injured but ultra-talented Oklahoma product responded, per the Dallas Morning News, “I think I’m capable of anything.”

Murray could be helped in this go round by both the presence of Bill Callahan--who will take the offensive reins from Jason Garrett this season and who is known to use a more balanced, run-heavy attack than does Garrett--and the fact that he’s back at “full speed” and feeling healthy.

“We definitely need to emphasize the running game,” Murray said later in the day on SportsCenter. “When you’re second-to-last in attempts, more than likely you’re going to be second-to-last in rushing, so we definitely got to get the running game going.”
