ESPN Mock Draft: Dallas Selects Nebraska CB Amukamara 9th Overall

The Cowboys could soon have a Prince on their roster, according to one NFL Draft expert.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper recently conducted his first mock draft, with the Dallas Cowboys selecting Nebraska cornerback Prince Amakumara with the ninth overall choice in April’s NFL Draft.

According to Kiper’s estimation, Dallas’ need for offensive line help could be addressed in later rounds, as, according to the current grading, no linemen available would be worth the ninth overall pick. Rather, Kiper sees Dallas addressing what has been a shaky secondary of late, in the first round.

Here’s what Kiper has to say about Amukamara:

"A great value here, Amukamara is the best pure ball-hawking corner in the draft. A technician with outstanding instincts, ball skills and anticipation, he immediately provides an upgrade in the Dallas secondary. The Cowboys need help at corner, and this spot is still a tad too early to go with offensive line help based on current grades, so this makes sense. Amukamara is the kind of player that can help the pass rush and also make quick decisions turn into interceptions."

Hey, sounds good to us.
