After the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round of the playoffs two weeks ago, the NFL went on a strange campaign of pointing out all the calls they possibly missed on crucial plays in the fourth quarter, not the least of which was the pass interference call on Anthony Hitchens that was ultimately picked up.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t want the NFL to do any similar public hand wringing over the Dez Bryant catch that was ruled incomplete, and he certainly doesn’t want an apology from the league--not that there's been any indication that the league is preparing to deliver one.
“I don’t think they do a bit of good,” Jones told 105.3-FM The Fan this week, via the Dallas Morning News. “There’s no consolation. ... That’s just a little bit like throwing dirt in your face, or salt on your wound is the better description."
