Hamlin Docked For Hit On Celek

Ken Hamlin's playoff bonus took a hit today as a result of the hit he put on Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek in Saturday's 34-14 wild card round victory.

Hamlin was flagged on the play for a personal foul, "hitting a defenseless receiver," as the ball sailed over the head of Celek.

The play might not have been so egregious, but Hamlin could be seen on the replay taking two strides before diving at the already-grounded tight end, striking Celek's helmet with his shoulder pad.

Today, the league handed down a fine worth $12,500.

The hit was just one of two personal fouls called on Hamlin during the game. He was also flagged for hitting Jeremy Maclin out of bounds, after Maclin took a swipe at Hamlin's helmet. In that case, though, the penalties off-set and no fine was levied.

Celek, who caught three passes for 59 yards in the loss, walked away with a fat lip courtesy of the shot.
