Falcons Cut Cowboys-ex Durant

Justin Durant was a solid player for the Cowboys before striking a free agent pay day prior to the 2015 season by signing with the Atlanta Falcons.

Durant, who battled injury problems during his tenure with the Cowboys but was really solid when he was on the field, had a pretty decent year in his first year in Atlanta and also stayed pretty healthy, playing in 13 games.

Durant was cut on Monday after tallying 82 tackles with three pass breakups in his 13 games for the disappointing Falcons, and at age 30 will now try to catch on elsewhere.

"We want to thank both of these guys for their commitment and work ethic," Falcons coach Dan Quinn told reporters about Durant and safety William Moore, who was also cut Monday. "They battled through injuries to give everything they had for their teammates this season and I will always be appreciative of that."
