The Dallas Cowboys have been very pleased with what they’ve seen out of Dez Bryant this spring as he recovers from the fractured right foot that hampered him throughout the 2015 season, but according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, they will hold him out of organized team activities (OTAs) when they open up next week as a precautionary measure.

We'll just take Dez day by day,” Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said. “He's done a really nice job in his rehab. He's been working on his conditioning the last couple of weeks. He's moving around well. We're not going to rush him.

“Any injured player, someone coming off of a surgery, someone in our rehab program right now, we're going to be very deliberate with bringing them back. So, we'll take Dez's situation day by day just like you would any of the other guys and see how they progress over the course of the spring.”

Meanwhile, we can only imagine Bryant is chomping at the bit. Tight end Jason Witten told reporters this week that Bryant has set the tone at Valley Ranch this offseason in terms of energy, which maybe makes sense, as Bryant is coming off the most frustrating season of his career, during which he saw career lows in catches (31), receiving yards (401) and touchdowns (3). That’s a lot of motivation for a receiver that has never seemed short of motivation.

"Well, he brings great energy," Witten said. "I think it’s great, not only for him, but for all of us to have him there. He loves football. It's been a good offseason for him. You talk about getting motivated and excited. He just leaps out when you see him the way that he approaches every day this off-season. He looks good, and I know he's very excited to get back at it.”
