DeMarcus Ware Forced Out With Shoulder Strain

Ware missed the fourth quarter and overtime in the loss to the Saints on Sunday

Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware played most of three quarters in the loss to the New Orleans Saints with a large brace to protect his hyper-extended elbow and a harness to hold his strained shoulder in place, but was finally forced to exit late in the third. He would miss the entire fourth quarter and overtime.

Ware had a tackle, a quarterback hurry and a forced fumble in the loss.

On the season, Ware has 55 tackles (four for a loss), five forced fumbles and 11.5 sacks. Last week, fellow outside linebacker Anthony Spencer recorded his tenth sack of the year, making he and Ware the first Cowboys duo to each have double-digit sacks since Ware and Greg Ellis did it in 2007.

There’s no word as of yet if Ware will be able to return for the match-up with the Redskins next Sunday, a game that will decide the NFC East champion.
