DeMarco Murray Traded to Titans

Score one for Jerry Jones. He decided not to pay DeMarco Murray last year. The Cowboys brass watched the Eagles give Murray a contract for $40 million over 5 years.

Philly traded Murray to the Tennessee Titans. Yup. One year after the failed experiment of Chip Kellyโ€ฆ Murray was so unhappy he helped engineer his own trade out of Philly.

I joked with my buddy John Clark of CSN Philadelphia when the Eagles signed the running back that Murray thought he disliked the DFW media; he will become really unhappy when he starting dealing with the Philadelphia press corps.

I was right. Even after the firing of head coach Chip Kelly, Murray still wanted out of Philadelphia.

Murray led the NFL in rushing for 1,845 yards with 13 touchdowns in Dallas in 2014 and was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year but only managed to gain 702 yards on the ground in the City of Brotherly Love.

I think he will be a good fit for the Titans in 2016. Barring an injury, Murray should surpass his rushing totals during his underwhelming season in Philly.

Cowboys fans should thank the organization for making the right call on Murray. Now they need to find his replacement in the draft or free agency this offseason.
