Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys calls a play during the game against the Arizona Cardinals.
The Dallas Cowboys will open the 2011 NFL season in New York, on the 10th Anniversary (doesn't seem like the right word there) of the Sept. 11th attacks, NBC Sports reports.
The Cowboys will not be playing their NFC East rival, but the Jets instead.
The Washington Post says the Giants are rumored to be playing the Redskins in D.C. that same day -- both rumors, if true, effectively kill the rumor of the Giants and Jets playing each other on Sept. 11.
It goes without saying, but this schedule is pending an agreement between the NFL Players Association and the owners.
The full schedules will be released by the NFL at 6 p.m. central.
