Sean Lee Set to Return Against Vikings

Lee hasn't played in any kind of game since December of 2013

Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was fully suited up for Sunday night’s preseason matchup with the 49ers in Santa Clara, CA, but he was never going to play. The Cowboys continue to handle Lee with caution as he continues to work back from the torn ACL that ended his 2014 season before it began.

The good news for Lee: It appears he’ll be on the field for the third preseason game, on Saturday against the Vikings in Arlington.

You want to be out there with the guys and playing football,” Lee said, per the Dallas Morning News. “But they have a plan for me and I’m just going to follow it. Next week should be a good week to start playing.”

Lee’s not about to get ahead of himself, of course. Standing between him and Saturday is a week of ever-important practices.

“It means I have to put a lot of work in,” Lee said. “It means it’s time for me to keep ramping up and that’s the plan they have, to add load and continue to build and we’ve done a good job with that, but now it’s time hopefully to get in playing a lot more football.

“I feel great. You’ve played football a long time, but I think I’ve come back and done a good job in practice. But that’s one thing. Taking it to the game is the next step and that’s something I need to do.”
