Frank Pollack Excited to Work with “Special” Offensive Line

Pollack was promoted from assistant to offensive line coach this offseason after Bill Callahan left

In his first year as the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line coach, Frank Pollack is in charge of a group that many believe has a chance to be historically great.

One of the best units in football a year ago, the Dallas line only got better this offseason with the addition of LSU offensive tackle La’el Collins--a potential top 10 pick who, because of highly unusual circumstances, went undrafted and was signed by the Cowboys as a free agent.

Assuming Collins starts, the Cowboys will essentially have first rounders at four of the five positions on the line.

“That’s exciting,” Pollack said, per the Dallas Morning News. “You can put me in any NFL room and I’m going to be excited. There’s only 32 of those rooms. But our room is special. There’s no doubt about it. I’m excited to be in there. It’s an honor and a privilege.”

A former NFL offensive lineman himself, Pollack spent the past two seasons as an assistant line coach under Bill Callahan. Callahan departed to become the Redskins offensive line coach this offseason, leaving Pollack to take over in Dallas.

“I learned a ton from [Callahan] on a daily basis,” Pollack said. “I took a lot of notes in there as well with the players on how he presented and coached and the way he taught things. It was really a benefit for me to sit there with him and learn a lot from him. It was a lot of fun. He’s a great coach. I played in this league loosely for eight years because I had him as a college coach and he taught me a ton of stuff. And I grew even more as a coach last year working with him.”
