Add wide receiver Dez Bryant to the ever-growing list of Dallas Cowboys who have come out to remark on the positive transformation theyβve seen while working under strength and conditioning coach Mike Woicik this offseason.
Widely considered one of the best S&C coaches in football--understandably so, as heβs the owner of six Super Bowl rings, three each with the Cowboys (early 1990s) and the Patriots (early 2000s)--Woicik got his first chance to lead his Cowboys through their offseason workout program this year. He was brought back to Dallas back in 2011, of course, but the lockout effectively wiped any official offseason workout programs from the books last year, leaving Woicik to more or less hope that his players came to camp in shape.
Bryant, who said earlier this offseason that he was never really at full health last year after suffering a deep thigh bruise in week one last year, believes his work with Woicik this summer will result in a noticeable difference on the field.
βIt affected me big time,β Bryant said, per the Dallas Morning News. βI feel much quicker. Iβm coming out of my breaks faster. I got in shape real quick. I know all the other guys have been going through the same workouts, so Iβm pretty sure they feel the same exact way.
βI feel like the team is just really ready to go. Iβm not going to predict anything, but I know for a fact that weβre ready to go.β
