Emmitt Smith caused a stir this off-season when he made a grim prediction for your Dallas Cowboys' 2009 season. The all-time rushing leader and three-time Super Bowl champ with Dallas said publicly that the Cowboys would be 7-9, and go home without a playoff berth.
For this reason, it was slightly remarkable to see Smith sitting with Jerry Jones in his luxury box on Sunday, donning a division champions hat and rubbing elbows with his former employer. He was one of a slew of celebrities in the house, including John Daly and host of Cheaters (and alleged former stabbing victim) Joey Greco.
But it wasn't a trimmed down golfer or a professional rabble-rouser that got the attention of Cowboys players as they walked off the field following the win. It was Smith, who apparently ruffled some feathers with his prediction.
The center of the Dallas Cowboys universe.
Jerry Jones said that Smith was glad that he was wrong.
"I think that Emmitt has probably recognized that he was a little off several games back," Jones said. "So I'm having fun with him. I'm glad he was wrong."
