Adduci Joins the Rangers' DL Club

The Texas Rangers' bench is already well below average, as it's a pretty obvious weakness on a team that is contending for a division title.

Jim Adduci's recent injury will make that weak link even weaker as the veteran outfielder was placed on the disabled list over the weekend after fracturing a finger sliding into second base in Friday night's win over the Chicago White Sox.

Adduci was the Rangers' best bench bat so far this season, hitting .462 in 13 at-bats, including a couple of big hits in late-game situations where his speed was utilized. In Adduci's place, the Rangers called up middle infield prospect Luis Sardinas, who collected his first career hit on Sunday in the Rangers' blowout loss to the White Sox.
