The Cowboys tight end announced his return to the gridiron Feb. 28

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco Saturday, just over a month after he announced he would end his retirement and return to the gridiron.

The 2019 class also includes basketball great Nancy Lieberman, former Major League Baseball pitcher Greg Swindell, former Texas A&M kicker Tony Franklin, former Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, college football Hall of Famer Loyd Phillips and tennis great Maureen Connolly Brinker.

Texas is the second state to honor Witten in its sports hall of fame, after Tennessee. Witten attended college at the University of Tennessee.
