Stars Embracing Playoff Intensity Going into Blues Series

After an impressive first round playoff series win against the Nashville Predators, the Dallas Stars enter the second round of the NHL postseason against the St. Louis Blues feeling as confident as ever. Then again, so is their opponent.

"They've been the hottest team in the NHL since January," said Stars center Tyler Seguin. "They're really good and we’re looking forward to that challenge."

"If you're in this position, you're playing good hockey right now," said Stars goalie Ben Bishop. "We're really happy with how we're playing and we just have to continue it."

Dallas is trying to continue its postseason run into the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since 2008, trying to navigate through the very noticeable high intensity that comes with playoff hockey.

"That's the best thing about playoff hockey," said Stars captain Jamie Benn. "Every little play is important. That's what makes it so exciting."

"The intensity is like 10 times higher," said Stars coach Jim Montgomery. "Every game in the series, the pace and the purpose and the intensity and how hard guys play just grows."

And the Stars hope their growing at that same pace, hoping to set the tone in the second round series in game one Thursday night at 8:30pm.
