Wichita Falls School Buses Damaged by Golf Club

Vandals using rocks, bricks and a golf club have damaged six school buses but repairs should be done in time for next week's start of classes.

A spokeswoman for the Wichita Falls Independent School District said Monday that the buses were in a yard surrounded by fencing and barbed wire. Renae Murphy says security cameras will be installed at the site where the buses were found vandalized last Thursday.

Murphy says the buses should be fixed before classes start Aug. 25.

Durham School Services, which manages the more than 90-bus fleet, estimates damages of up to $10,000 from broken side and front windows, plus busted mirrors.

A golf club found at the scene has been turned over to Wichita Falls police. Police didn't immediately return a message Monday.
