The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the following North Texas counties until 5 a.m.: Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hamilton, Henderson, Hood, Hopkins, Hunt, Jack, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rains, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Van Zandt and Wise.
Heavy rain and frequent lightning has continued for much of the region into the night, and several flash flood advisories were issued, including warnings for Tarrant and Dallas counties until midnight.
Lightning may have been the cause of a house fire Tuesday night in Southlake. Fire crews were called about 9 p.m. the home on North Peytonville Avenue, where the fire apparently began in the attic.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire, officials said, and fire investigators will work to determine the cause.
