Teen Arrested, Computer Seized

Coppell district officials say the cyber crimes unit of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested the New Tech High School student on March 23. Police say his computer was seized as part of the federal investigation.

The boy's identity hasn't been disclosed.

District spokeswoman Tamerah (TAM'-uh-ruh) Ringo says the boy's school-issued laptop computer was among the technology items seized at his home. Ringo told The Associated Press that "whether or not there's any pornography on it (the school-issued laptop), we don't know."

Ringo says the boy has been assigned to the district's disciplinary alternative education program until the investigation is over.
