Frisco police said the survey crew called the police at about 1:40 p.m. and reported finding the remains along the 7600 block of Peaceful Lane.

Detectives with Frisco's Criminal Investigations Division and the Collin County Medical Examiner's office are investigating and, according to a statement by the police department, working to determine if the remains are linked to a 2015 missing person case involving 61-year-old Sidney Sorenson, Jr.

Sorenson was reported missing March 6, 2015 after he was last seen the day before walking toward the Warren Sports Complex from his residence. The sports complex is located across Eldorado Parkway from where the remains were found.

The search for Sorenson lasted five days and involved a number of local and state agencies and volunteers.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.
