Showers and Storms Bringing Cool Down Monday

Cooler weather will settle in from the north

The storms gave one Irving homeowner a lot of trouble when it toppled a massive tree onto his garage. No one was hurt but there is a mess to clean up.

A much-anticipated cold front brought welcome heat relief and good rain Monday.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph were reported in Denton and Cooke counties after 6 a.m. with some power outages reported across the area.

A ground stop was in effect for all flights arriving at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport with some flights delayed an average of 56 minutes, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. [[489517701,C]]

A few more spotty storms could redevelop this afternoon and evening. Cooler weather will also settle in from the north Monday.
