Schlossnagle Named National Coach of the Year

TCU baseball Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle picked up some much deserved hardware Tuesday.

The 45-year-old was named the Baseball America National Coach of the Year.

This is the second time the Maryland native has won the award. He took home the prize back in 2010 after he guided TCU to their first ever College World Series.

2016 saw Schlossnagle lead the Horned Frogs to their third straight College World Series and finished the year with a 49-18 record, the third most wins in the program's history.

Schlossnagle also guided the Horned Frogs to the Big 12 Conference Tournament Championship.

Schlossnagle, TCU's all-time winningest baseball coach, just signed a contract extension at the end of last month.

He'll be entering his 14th season as head coach in 2017 with a TCU record of 565-254 and a career record of 642-301.
