An argument at a birthday party turned violent early Thursday when a man was stabbed to death in Dallas.
Dallas police officers were called to an apartment on the 5800-block of Preston Oaks Boulevard at about 2:30 a.m. where they learned that Clyde Shavers, 39, had been stabbed.
Investigators learned that Shavers got into an argument with his stepson's friend during a birthday party held at his apartment. The argument escalated and spilled outside, police said, where Shavers was stabbed.
Shavers was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the man that stabbed Shavers has been identified and that a warrant will be issued for his arrest on Thursday.
It is not clear what the men were arguing about. There were no other reported injuries.
