Man in Custody After Nearly 6-Hour Standoff at Fort Worth Home

Police said they took a man into custody Friday morning after a nearly six-hour standoff at a Fort Worth home following a domestic disturbance. [[428828563,C]]

Fort Worth police said the man was arguing with his father when he threatened him with a weapon at the home in the 1200 block of Debbie Drive at about 10:30 p.m. The father and his wife left the house and called police.

The man then barricaded himself inside the home, according to officials.

A SWAT team arrived to assist at about 11:30 p.m. Police said SWAT officers disabled a city street light, deployed gas and took the man into custody at about 4:15 a.m.

Paramedics evaluated the man and transported him to John Peter Smith Hospital in unknown condition.
