Lufkin Police Officers Avoid Swerving Big Rig

Video released Wednesday by an East Texas police department shows even the most routine of a police officer's duties can turn into a life-or-death situation.

Lufkin police officers were waiting on a wrecker to help a stranded driver Monday morning, when a tractor-trailer locked up its brakes.

The officers and stranded driver dove out of the way of the flatbed trailer as it went sideways toward them.

Lufkin police say the driver of the big rig was not cited, and he apologized repeatedly.

The officers commended the driver on regaining control of the truck.
