Authorities say a lightning strike sparked a fire at a home in DeSoto Sunday afternoon.
Neighbors heard lightning strike the roof of the home in the 1900 block of Windmill Hill Lane. Witnesses called 9-1-1 after seeing flames rising from the home.
Police said no one was in the house at the time of the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
The damage was estimated to be a total of $500,000
