Firefighters Rescue Woman Who Drove Around Barricades

Grand Prairie firefighters had to rescue a woman who they say drove around barricades and into high water.

Firefighters said the woman drove her white Honda around barricades at Riverside Parkway and Texas 360 that closed off a flooded road on each side.

When her car got stuck in the high water, firefighters had to go in and rescue her.

Firefighters said they were able to walk her out of the water, but her car was still in the water.

Police and firefighters urge drivers to never drive around barricades and never drive through water on roadways because there's no way to know how deep it is or if the road itself has been washed away.

The National Weather Service said you can lose control of your car in just six inches of water.
