Fifth Frisco Fire Frightens Residents

A fifth suspicious fire in a Frisco neighborhood is being looked at by arson investigators.

The fire started around 3:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Burr Oak Drive, according to the homeowner. It started in a trash can, then spread to the side of his house.

"I walked out of my garage and saw flames," said Mark Nunn.

A home across the street was destroyed by fire on June 21.

Four other fires have been labeled as suspicious in the neighborhood since May 20. Two of those homes were under construction.

No one was reported injured.

Arson and police investigators are now looking into how this latest fire may have started.

At a press conference Thursday morning, Frisco's chiefs of fire and police both said all the fires are part of an ongoing investigation.

"We're looking for anything suspicious, just call," said Frisco Chief of Police John W. Bruce. "We have more than a routine patrol in the neighborhood right now."

Frisco Mayor Maher Maso had stronger words for whoever is setting the fires.

"We are confident we will catch this coward," Maso said.
