FEMA Assistance for NTX Tornado Victims Still Under Review

Federal Emergency Management Agency teams continue to assess the damage after the North Texas tornadoes.

The assistance can be doled out in two catagories, according to Congressman Pete Sessions

There is public assistance for the cities, which goes towards roads and public buildings.

And then there is individual assistance.

Sessions says it is possible that there will not be individual assistance because a lot of the losses are covered by insurance. But he adds, the assessments are not finished.

β€œThe bottom line to this is the larger portion of the damage appears to be reimbursable and the smaller portion, while it is individuals who are involved, we are not sure that it is going to meet the federal threshold," Sessions said. "That is what we are working through for the individual help also.”
