Convicted Drug Dealer Fled Arkansas Court, Caught in Dallas

Investigators say a convicted drug dealer who fled an Arkansas courtroom after being sentenced to 20 years in prison has been caught in Texas.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 32-year-old Daroyce Rodgers was captured Friday at a house in Dallas, after nearly six months on the run. Rodgers awaits extradition to Texarkana, Arkansas.

Rodgers faces escape and battery charges in Miller County, Arkansas, where he fled from court on March 31.

Rodgers, who was free on bond during trial, was sentenced to 20 years for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. He hugged his mother -- then fled, knocking aside two bailiffs. The officers were slightly hurt.

Rodgers allegedly had a gun when arrested in Dallas and could be prosecuted for being a convicted felon having a weapon.
