Colleyville Sewer Overflow Affects Nearby Pond, Wells

A sewer overflow discovered Thursday afternoon caused sewage to spill into a nearby pond, Colleyville officials say. [[407121305,R]]

The overflow, located near 1101 West Lavaca Trail, was caused by a debris blockage, the city said. It's not expected to affect the local water supply, but officials with the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality said people with private wells located a half mile from the spill should boil their water.

Anyone in the affected area who uses a well should have their water tested, the TCEQ said.

Several ponds downstream from the spill were tested, and only one was affected, the city said. Crews are working to remove sewage from the pond.
