Fort Worth ISD Student Arrested After Gun Confiscated

A high school in Benbrook was briefly placed on lock down Friday morning after police received a report of a student armed a gun on a school bus, administrators say.

All students at Western Hills High School, in the Fort Worth Independent School District, were held in their first period classes for about thirty minutes as officers searched for the weapon, according to Clint Bond, a district spokesman.

Officers found the student and confiscated the unloaded handgun.

The student, who was not identified, was arrested. It's wasn't immediately clear if the student will be charged.

No further information was immediately available.
