The city of Arlington, with Monday’s announcement, stepped boldly into the second decade of the 21st century, and just in time for Super Bowl XLV.
The city released its own iPhone and Android applications, affectionately known as apps, that connect residents and visitors to information aplenty about city services, attractions and entertainment, shopping, dining, maps, and such, just in time for Super Bowl XLV.
The free apps can be found, respectively, at the Apple iTunes Store and Android Market, just in time for Super Bowl XLV.
According to the press release, “The mobile apps launch right in time for this year’s Super Bowl XLV, which will be held in Arlington’s Cowboys Stadium on February 6, 2011. More than 100,000 football fans are expected to visit Arlington on Super Bowl Sunday.”
Did we mention it’s all just in time for Super Bowl XLV? Good, that’s the way Arlington wanted it, apparently.
