Tributes to Dandy Don

Videos and Tweets poured out over the internet yesterday when news spread of the Sunday passing of Dallas Cowboy and SMU QB legend, Don Meredith aka Dandy Don. Brad Sham, voice of the Dallas Cowboys, called into the Daybreak USA radio show and labeled the 72-year-old a trailblazer for other players who followed his path in becoming sports broadcasters.

Meredith, who retired at 31, was also an actor and spokesperson for Lipton Iced Tea. He suffered a brain hemorrhage and fell into a coma at his Santa Fe, NM home. His wife was at his side when he passed. Tony Romo and Jerry Jones both were saddened by the news, and Walt Garrison said his goodbyes with a poem.
