Euless Trinity's unbeaten run as the top team in Texas -- and maybe the nation -- is over.
The defending Class 5A state champions lost 34-21 to Allen on Saturday in the state quarterfinals at Texas Stadium.
The Trojans had been a near-unanimous No. 1 in The Associated Press high school poll all season.
Euless Trinity (13-1) was also No. 1 in some national rankings, including USA Today's Super 25.
Allen avenged a 24-21 loss to Trinity in September, the only blemish on its record. The Eagles (13-1) were ranked No. 5 in the final AP poll last month, and No. 13 in the latest USA Today rankings.
The loss is only Trinity's fourth in four seasons.
