Local nonprofit press Deep Vellum Publishing will celebrate the publication of three new titles later this month with a free reading and discussion at its bookshop and headquarters on Commerce Street. The new works, a set of poetry chapbooks, are the first titles Deep Vellum has published by Dallas writers since its establishment in 2013.On Aug. 30 at 7 p.m., Deep Vellum's director Will Evans will moderate casual conversations with the authors, Edyka Chilomé (El Poemario del Colibrí), Fatima-Ayan Malika Hirsi (Everything Good is Dying) and Mike Soto (Dallas Spleen), all of whom are deeply immersed in North Texas' arts scene.
