Hunters Lose Their Way But Not Their Hog's Head in Dark Dallas County Woods

Four hog hunters emerged safe from the woods, trophy head in-hand, after they got stranded in rural Dallas County early Tuesday. The four men and their hunting dogs chased a feral pig into the woods along the Trinity River about 12:30 a.m. near the town of Wilmer, southeast of Dallas. The hunters bagged the hog but had to call 911 for help when they lost their way.Rescuers used the GPS trackers on the dogs' collars to pinpoint their location along the river near Malloy Bridge Road, a sheriff's spokeswoman said.Search crews from Wilmer and Dallas Fire-Rescue, as well as Dallas County sheriff's deputies and state troopers all assisted in finding the lost men.   Continue reading...
