Gusts of Up to 60 Mph Flip Airplanes, Damage Hangars at Denton Enterprise Airport

Thunderstorms brought gusts of up to 60 mph that flipped airplanes and damaged hangars overnight at Denton Enterprise Airport. The severe weather that included hail moved through the area about 1 a.m. Tuesday and substantially weakened by the time it reached Dallas County, National Weather Service meteorologist Juan Hernandez said. Between 15 to 20 aircrafts suffered minor to severe damage, including some with crushed wings and propellers, said Mark Nelson, transportation director for the city of Denton.
