Fort Worth Kindergarten Teacher Accused of Fondling Preteen

A Fort Worth kindergarten teacher accused of fondling a 12-year-old was arrested Wednesday night.Joel Emmett Allen, 48, faces a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact. He remained in the Tarrant County jail Thursday afternoon, with bail set at $15,000. The E.M. Pate teacher will be placed on administrative leave when he posts bond, Fort Worth ISD spokesman Clint Bond said.Detectives interviewed Allen and his accuser Wednesday after the 12-year-old told a school resource officer about the abuse. The child, who does not attend E.M. Pate, is now receiving help, Fort Worth police spokesman Jimmy Pollozani said.The district hired Anderson in August 2001, Bond said.
