Burglary Suspect Caught After Snapping Selfies on Stolen iPad

A burglary suspect was busted after he snapped selfies on one of the iPads he allegedly stole from an Austin business last month.SG Interactive was broken into over the New Year's holiday weekend and several laptops and iPads were stolen, according to KXAN-TV (NBC). The stolen devices were synced to the company's cloud account though, so when the suspect snapped his selfies, they were made visible to employees.Police linked 56-year-old James Johnson to the case after they connected him to another burglary that happened in south Austin.Using cellphone data, authorities determined that Johnson was near the business when it was broken into in January and that he called a woman who was in one of the selfies he took with the iPad.Johnson is being held in the Travis County Jail and has been charged with four counts of burglary of a building.   Continue reading...
