A Downtown Dallas Historical Marker Thought Stolen Is Safely in Police Custody

Last month I wrote a straight-up news story about a historical marker that was missing from downtown Dallas — specifically, the sign commemorating the "Junction of the Texas & Pacific and Houston & Texas Central Railroads" at present-day Pacific Avenue beneath Interstate 345.Because the thing was never found, Dallas police issued a missing-marker bulletin Tuesday. Everyone presumed the marker was stolen.
