TWIRLING TASSELS: Allow over 40 shimmying divas to warm you up tonight and tomorrow night at the 3rd Annual Dallas Burlesque Festival. Violet O’Hara will host a teaser night at the Texas Theatre this evening at 9 p.m., and Velvet Fontaine will host tomorrow’s main show at the House of Blues at 7 p.m. $20

ART AFTER DARK: Tonight not only marks the first Late Night event of the year, but also the Dallas Museum of Art’s 108th birthday. Help them celebrate with a night full of African beats, jazz and blues tunes, lively polka music from Brave Combo, and a performance by folk/rock artists Telegraph Canyon. 6 p.m. to midnight. $10 at the door.

POLISH UP THOSE BOOTS: The O’s will be taking the stage at Double Wide on Saturday night for their Dallas CD release show. The Blurries and Sleeping in the Aviary will open the show at 10 p.m. $5. Catch them in Fort Worth tonight with Calhoun and Taylor Craig Mills at 10:30 p.m.
