Barber Returns To Practice

Yesterday, the usually quiet Marion Barber met with reporters outside his locker, saying, in not so many words, that he expected to play on Monday, that his quadriceps injury (suffered Sunday night against New York) was progressing well.

"[It was] just like a bad cramp," said Barber. "I've been [doing] a little light workout, but I haven't really ran. I've felt it before, that's happened to me before a while back, so it felt real similar."

Those who saw Barber fall to the turf on Sunday likely had doubts.

But, it appears that he may have been truthful in his assessment. According to Matt Mosley of ESPN's NFC East Blog, Barber is practicing with the team this afternoon.

An unnamed source, cited in the report, said that Barber is taking limited reps, and has shown "slight" improvement from Wednesday, when he was severely limited in team workouts.

As Mosley points out, Barber's toughness was (kind of groundlessly) called into question by Jerry Jones last year after missing a December game in Pittsburgh with a toe injury.
